Japanese Train Station

Comments

Good grief! I've only been crammed in a crowd like that once, during Mardi Gras. Walking on Bourbon Street was like being stuck in the belly of a snake. We moved but our feet weren't on the ground. And the groping...gah. I can sympathize there.
Oh! I always wanted to do this!
Not the pushing, I mean, but just going from one station to the next on a train that crowded! What an experience! I'll do that some day, and tape it for you, to see if it really is that horrendous! I heard trains in Singapore could be that bad, but I never saw it in the whole month I was there.
the trains are almost that bad where I am on big holidays and game days. crazy, scary, and dangerous. it is kind of shocking how crowds have no regard for individual safety. last time I had to protect a little girl from a group of people who thought falling on purpose was a terrific game. no uniforms pushing people in though.
No wonder they have a climbing suicide rate!
Thanks for reminding me of home.

I did that every weekend for five years, going back n forth between home and medschool. People were just a tad more rude. During the holiday season, I would often have to make the three hour journey squeezed between hot and sweaty bodies outside the toilet, standing room only. I learned to shout back in rude language, dig my shoes into the toes attached to groping bodies, bribe my way through ' no more tickets, madam' and most importantly, to not cry.
