Dina spent the first 2 and a half years in an orphanage waiting for the red tape to clear so her mommy and daddy could bring her home. She is loved and pampered and 18 years in the making :)

This tree is pretty much naked now, we had a few days of wind, and only the oak trees and the weeping willows are hanging on to their leaves. I have a few perennials still doing ok, I was hoping to get out and shoot today, but the wind changed my mind so I took a day for myself, and laid in bed and watched Milk.

I rearranged the pantry today in anticipation of Thanksgiving. I want to attach my clothing closet too, but it is overwhelming when I look at it. But, the pantry was too, and I tackled that. I had expired jello...expired in 2007. Then I started looking at every expiration date on every package and filled a 13 gallon trash bag with near empty bags and boxes of stale snacks and expired Jello. I wonder why I had 13 boxes of Jello. What was I thinking?

I've got flowers around the house to photograph, 2 of my christmas cactus's are blooming, and Jo brought me flowers on Saturday, when we celebrated my birthday yet again. October was FULL of birthday surprises!

My best gifts by far were the platter Jo made for me and my IPhone.

I've sort of abandoned my Vox blog. There just isn't time in the day to keep up with a neighborhood and download and edit, post and comment AND do things offline that won't get done if I don't get off my arse.

Note to self. This posts to your Vox blog you dummy!

Summer is over, the flowers are gone, and somehow so is my desire to shoot. I pulled a few out of my sleeve yesterday, but to me, they don't have the same punch as my summer macros have.

Today is gray and cloudy, but pretty windy. We've got a cold front coming through just in time for the trick or treaters. Poor kids.

So I am out looking for shots, I really want to do reflections, but will I tire of the same places over and over? I wish I had public access to lots of lakes and ponds, so that I could just sit close to the water and wait for shots. There are a few, but they are inconvenient to park and walk.

Please don't let winter take my mojo away this year!

We went camping in Savanna IL, at seven eagles campground. It was such a great campsite, I'd definitely go back. When it is warmer!

I didn't take too many pictures over the weekend because it was too freaking cold to wander too far away from the camper or the campfire!

These things came out of the ground when I pulled my frost killed ornamental sweet potato vines. They are edible, but bitter, so we aren't eating them! There were a lot. These are the ones I saved to photograph.

golf ...

rather fight than switch

yesterday on the way to the golf course, i realized that i had forgotten my camera. hubby said: too bad, we'll probably see blue heron and a flock of wild turkey, to which I responded: do we have enough time to go back and get it? he said sure, so i turned the golf cart in a big half cirle. but the wheels caught the curb.

it happed so fast! i was on the grass, hubby was on top of me. i was so worried he was hurt my first thought came out loud HONEY ARE YOU OK? he said i think so. the golf cart flipped when it caught the curb. somehow it rt was propelled from the street onto soft grass. but that didn't stop me from getting whacked really hard on the bar that holds the roof on.

i quickly grew an egg the size of half an orange. we uprighted the cart, adrenaline is amazing stuff. on the way home, hubby said i had to go to urgent care ASAP.

long story short, i am ok, terribly bruised and sore. and hubby is ok. thank goodness i didn't hurt him too. i am glad i took the brunt of the accident.

i can't see so good, my eye is swollen shut now, but the egg is gone just about.

i'm glad i didn't have the d300 along, because with the 105 attached, it would have hit me on the back of the head and probably killed me.

no photography for me today. :((

I'm not abandoning Vox, I swear. As soon as the weather turns, and it is coming faster than I want it too, I'll be back. Maybe then I'll have time to organize my summer photography.

It is a rainy day here, I had to sneak out to hunt down refraction shots between the rains. I think I might be making Flickr self destruct today, as I am uploading 131 files. I feel so much safer having them on a place where I can easy retrieve them if my computer dies, and my portable hard drive dies all at the same time. Why am I such a fatalist?

I haven't done this for a while, but I am listening to The Beatles White Album. I forgot how good they were! Hard to sit still without dancing in my seat as I am working in my digital darkroom.

First time ever! Now I am in the photography stream of SU! woot woot! I hope that is a good thing. I'm going to be famous one day. In my own mind only maybe but that is good enough for me.

do you see me on the bottom right petal? that was just a bonus, what a pretty flower! I had such a good day today, I didn't need to crop hardly any of the shots and only deleted a dozen or so out of 75. Oh gosh Nikon users, if you don't have a 105mm Nikkor micro (macro) 1:2.8 you gotta get one! I can practically touch the flowers when I am shooting them.

Brett Favre is a douche! I am proudly wearing my "We will never forget you Brent" tee shirt today. He needs a therapist.
