I ran across the motherload of beautiful weeds on the 10th hole. Giant thistles are blooming now. I know these plants are a pain in the butt, err legs, hands etc, when you touch them, but seriously, the buds and blooms are absolutely gorgeous! Take a peek.
I got the inspiration to take a waterfall picture from one of my flickr contacts.
And thats about it. For now. I've got a busy day ahead. Company at 5 for a cookout, I am picking up Nikki at 10 to work at the house. They bought a fixer upper, and she is just overwhelmed with the amount of work to do. DH, SS and I went over for about 3 hours yesterday and really knocked off a lot of the things that needed to be done. The kids are doing wall prep now, they've taken the wallpaper down (the entire house was papered in 1970's paper), spackeled and sanded most of the walls and have started to prime the walls. Yesterday, DH, SS and I tore up more carpet, removed staples from the subfloor, cleaned up all the paint chips on the floor from sanding..what a pain. I told Nick if he ever buys another house that needs so much work I would kick his ass. I can't blame Nik for being so overwhelmed. When it is just the 2 of them working on it, it must seem like it is going so slow.
So anyway, we are going to work from 10-2. Then rush home to shower, and prepare for the cookout. Did I mention that I haven't shopped yet?
lololol
In some aspects, it was a waste of time, I didn't get a single thing done around the house today. My towel is still laying on the bathroom floor and I'm wearing pj pants and a nightgown because I can't find the top. So I neglected the housework, so what? The mess is driving me crazy but today was a perfect day. The weather couldn't have been nicer. John, the pro-shop manager at Edgewood, called and asked me if I would please send him pictures of the golf course asap, and I told him I'd do it Saturday during the GMO outing.
Then I got to thinking, today is PERFECT! There were thin wispy white puffs in the sky. It was such a beautiful shade of blue today, just perfect for shooting. I also figured they probably didn't want golfers in the pictures, so I kind of hopped around the golf course in one of their carts. I took 73 pictures, and I had a blast.
This is Fred on the left, he was smiling as usual. He stood right up and came after me for the camera to shoot me, but I said "hey!". Fred and Joanne own the golf course we play at, and their three kids are each employed at the course as superintendent, pro shop manager, resturant manager. John is actually the pro shop manager, he is the son in law. His wife is busy making babies. She used to golf on the LPGA! But now she's a mommy. I am sure Jack is already swinging a club at three years old. We love the family, and love being members at their golf club. If I told you what we paid in yearly memberships you wouldn't believe me, they certainly are not out to get anyone to "buy in" or buy shares. The cost is reasonable considering we go out 2-3 times a week when the weather cooperates. Oh, Edgewood also has 36 holes!
I'm getting side tracked, but I wanted to share about this family run business, they are awesome people.
