First time ever! Now I am in the photography stream of SU! woot woot! I hope that is a good thing. I'm going to be famous one day. In my own mind only maybe but that is good enough for me.
Brett Favre is a douche! I am proudly wearing my "We will never forget you Brent" tee shirt today. He needs a therapist.
Here is a shot of my mystery plant today...I took the camera to the nursery and they thought it might be a variety of Aster.
Ok the weather is beautiful, I've accomplished a lot today...updated facebook, twitter, Vox, took pictures, downloaded pictures, uploading currently to flickr...and I need to get outside. Times a wastin!
Yesterday afternoon, we had a doozy storm work its way through here. when it was over I snatched the camera and ran outside for refraction opportunities.
I think I have it figured out, sort of. First of all, it helps if you can actually SEE the refraction in the drop!
I've got a ton of pictures that look pretty similar, but if you look closely you'll see the flowers in the raindroplets.
if I crop them in too close they get blurry. I either need to start shooting in raw or maybe I should just get the tripod out and add a close up lens. I was so anxious to get outside with the camera that I didn't do either yesterday. lol. I wanted to go back in and fetch the close-ups, but I was so excited that I could actually see the images in the drops, I didn't dare move away until I got my fill of the same shots at different angles.I am already tired of shooting dahlias, the ones I bought at home depot are starting to look all the same once I download them. But here are a few anyway.
Hey, do you remember how long I procrastinated and how much I bitched about all those tulip bulbs I had to plant?
Well, it was worth it!
When I don't sleep well, I get pissed off at:
DH sleeping soundly
DH snoring
DH obviously slept well cus he's happy this am
Anyone who slept last night
Morning.
Rain
I just want to go back to bed, I should just give myself permission. I promised to come into work today, to close the month, but I can do it on Monday, or even Tuesday, or even possibly Wednesday morning next week. They don't really need me in there, they want me, well DH wants me to bring his phone charger, that's why he wants me to come in.
continuation an hour later: Well, I guess it is time to do laundry as DH brought his basket to the laundry room and so far it is 4 loads. haha! I decided it was too cold to shower today, which actually got me out of my jammies quicker than if I'd been sitting here all along. Getting ready to go out when it is 50 foggy and raining is not motivated. I'm still tempted to go back to bed but I will probably be a good wife and take his charger in, pick up the deposit, and come back home and continue on with the laundry. I just don't even want to get out of the car to go into the office, the rain is nailling the ground sideways, it is the kind of weather that you want to run in from point a to point b and I can't run.
I think I am going to go on a cream city photo-meetup this weekend. DH is golfing with the mens club, and the get together is from sunrise till late at night. Most of the educational activities are going on in the late morning and early afternoon. cream city photo day Do you think it will be safe to go alone? There are about 100 people scheduled to show up and over a thousand belong to the cream city flickr page...I would be so there if I could drag DH along. Maybe he will change his mind about golfing when I show him the link.
Our river is flooded again. I am tempted to take pictures through the windows, and I may still. The trees are just budding so you can still see it pretty good out back. It is flooded for as far as I can see, and it looks like a huge lake with tiny little islands on it. The view is pretty spectacular, but I am not sure it would make a good photograph because it is so fenced with tree branches, and you kind of have to know what it usually looks like to know it is different. Last night I went out to get ice cream, and the water was almost up to the road again. We aren't supposed to get a lot of rain today, I hope they are right because just another inch or so and we are back to last years 22 mile detour to get to town.
The real question is why do I let things affect me so much? I should just learn to let things roll off my shoulders better. Some things do, others, especially when I see that it causes any kind of emotional pain for DH, well, that is when it is hard for me to control both my anger and my mouth. And I do it all the time, over-react. Oh well.
I am down to practically nothing in the freezer except the beef we bought last month, it is time to make a major grocery trip. Ugh. Why do I hate grocery shopping so much? update: Jo just called, we are going out for dinner tonight...I can procrastinate shopping for one more day!
My new laptop's monitor flashes and rolls all the time, except when I have it packaged up to take it in for service. Then nothing happens. There must be something loose inside here, but I've never taken a laptop apart, I've got a feeling if I did I would end up with a pile of spare parts that should be inside, and a computer that doesn't work. So I'll put up with the flashy rollies until it does it nonstop, then take it in for service.
The sun is out today. But the trees are doing the hoola dance, not a good day for close-ups.
47 degrees in Big Bend.
It is supposed to snow all day today, and it isn't supposed to stick because the temperatures are above freezing, but just barely. Of course it is snowing. I just planted. The rain we had yesterday really greened things up around here. This is my favorite time of year to look out our picture windows at the river, it is green, but the trees are only budding. Once they leaf, I won't be able to see the river and marsh behind my house.
I've got another tooth problem. I cannot believe how often I have issues with my teeth. This one is totally my fault though. Two words: popcorn kernels. My molar looks like it had an earthquake. I know this because I stuck a little mirror in my mouth to see why it hurt so dang much. I have a feeling this isn't going to be easy to fix, the crack is below the gum line.
I just ran out of things to say, so I'll just share some pictures.
